Can any indicator be turned into an Expert Advisor?
Most can, as long as its signal can be read from its buffers or objects. Repainting indicators need care: the EA should act only on closed-bar signals so it does not trade signals that later disappear.
Do I need the indicator’s source code?
Not always. A compiled indicator can often be called from an EA with iCustom if its buffers expose the signal. With the source code, more of its logic can be used directly.
Will the EA trade exactly like I do by hand?
It trades the rules you specify, consistently. Anything you judge by eye has to be written as a rule first, which is agreed during the specification.
